Everyone say hello to Mr. Danny Cadra.

Other than music, he loves fixing and building things...and loves working on trucks!  He loves going out to my favorite bar, The Blue Light!  "On nights I'm not playing and hanging out with all my buddies...it just doesn't get much better than that!  I also like to fish and work out when I have time. "

When and why did you start playing?
"Playing music?  Hmm, I guess I started piano in the 1st or second grade, and then played the trumpet for about 17 years.  In 2003 I got my first guitar and started singing."

Which instruments do you play?  "Guitar, trumpet, and piano."

What was the first songs you learned?
"I guess I was kinda learning several songs at once...Cadillac Cowboy, Silver Wings, Feel Like Making Love, Freebird...some others, I guess."

Is your family musical?
"Very much so.  I played on my dad's trumpet, my mom sings and plays the piano, my brother has a bachelor's in music ed, masters in percussion from Texas State and a Doctorate in music composition from Texas Tech, and my sister sings and was in Texas Tech's drumline for 4 years.  I'm very fortunate to have grown up around so much music!" What an amazing musical family!

Which famous musicians do you admire? Why? "Merle Haggard.  He's the best.  Good luck finding someone who can sing, write, and pick all on the level that he does.  George Strait.  No one quite delivers like him.  He's so good at delivering songs/messages that he gets songs pitched to him by the best if the best songwriters.  Alice In Chains (emphasis on Jerry Cantrell). It's mind-boggling how original that band sounds!  And Jerry is the riff-lord!  There are so many more...Jerry Reed, Dwight Yoakum, Bob Wills, Megadeth, Metallica...haha, so many more!" What amazing artists!

What are your fondest musical memories? "I loved singing three part harmonies to a huge pipe organ with my family at church.  Too many fun stories from my trumpet days, and too many CRAZY stories from pickin' and grinnin'!"

Were you influenced by old records & tapes?
"YES!  My parents had what seemed like was an endless supply of records, ranging from the Beatles and Buddy Holly to Beethoven and Mozart." I personally think that if you live in the Lubbock it is a crime to not love Buddy Holly!

What's the funniest thing that's happened on the road?
"Haha, what happens on the road stays on the road!" Isn't that the truth!

Best place to eat while on the road?
"Oh goodness, waaaay too many to list!  But I'll say this, if I'm within an hour of Herd's burgers in Jacksboro, TX I'm gonna get some!" Yum! I've personally been there and it was amazing!

What's the best town play in?
"Nashville, hands down.  Live music is loved there like no other place I've ever played."

Thank you so much for taking the time to talk if me!
