Most of people may have heard the name of Curtis Grimes before defiantly if you have seen The Voice!
Curtis Grimes of Gilmer, TX was picked by Cee Lo Green and ended up Top 10! While Curtis is not on tour or recording he enjoys: hunting, fishing, anything outdoors or sports related. Which sounds like lots of fun! He graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. Go Bobcats!

Curtis started playing music his freshman year of college, after baseball was no longer an option.  He had an academic scholar and athlete in high school. Where he was an All-State pitcher and member of the 2003 state qualifying baseball team isn’t that awesome!

Curtis plays the acoustic guitar and the drums and also of course sings.

“Tonight's Not the Night" - Randy Rogers Band”

Is your family musical?

“My grandparents on my mama's side were.”

Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?

“Too many to mention, I have a lot of respect for the ones that earned their success the hard way”

Which famous musicians have you learned from?

“I take notes from all the bigger acts we play with, see what they do and how they do it and the way they treat other up-and-coming acts so I'll know what to and not do to later on.”

What are your fondest musical memories?

“Writing and playing my first song for all my family and friends, my first big show opening for Kenny Chesney at an arena and being on season 1 of The Voice.”

“Yes, a lot of the old country 8-tracks I listened to as a child, explains my traditional tendencies.”

Who are your favorite musicians?

“My band guys, they do all the hard work of this career with me.”

What is a typical week like for you?

“There is no such thing as a "typical" week in this world, I wish there was! Play as many shows as possible, stay on top of the business side of things, write in between all that and catch up and do laundry in my "free" time.”

What's your favorite thing about being on the road?

“Being in a new city meeting new fans every night, like a lot of mini-vacations.”

What's the funniest thing that's happened on the road?

“If we had a film crew we would have plenty of content for a reality show of our own.”

Best place to eat while on the road?

“We google the best spot in each town and go for it.”

What's the best town play in?

“My favorite place would be Tyler, TX, being the closest legit venue to my hometown.”
