Kylee's Hobbies include: "Other than photography, I also work for a jewelry company called "Origami Owl" which I consider a hobby because I love it so much!  I also enjoy crafting, baking, trying new things (like recently making my own vanilla extract and salted caramel sauce) and also home decor.  I am a work-at-home mom of three so I also spend most of time keeping up with my kiddos."

How long have you been in the photography business?
"I have been in the photography business for 5 1/2 years.  I started taking photos of my oldest child when he was born and became unhappy with the traditional studio photos so I started playing around with different poses and learning the settings on my camera.  I entered into the business with sports photography (little league baseball) and practiced on many family and friends before I officially started my photography business."

What type of photography do you do most? And what do you enjoy most and why?
"Families, children, and couples.  I love doing photography when children are involved. They are so unpredictable that you can't 'plan' the entire session.  You just never know what cute or silly things they will do or say.  I also love editing photos of families and children.  I find myself smiling as I look through the photos because I will remember something funny they said or did. :)"

What is the most challenging part of being a photographer?
"I would say making people feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera.  A lot of people stress out over photos, but the best ones happen when everyone is relaxed!"

What is your best business tip for starting photographers?
"Practice, practice, practice .. and practice on real subjects.  I have used my children for practice many times and did many free sessions for friends and family before I felt comfortable starting my own business.  Also, know your style and stick with it.  Even photography has fads, but if you know your style and you're consistent with it, people will remember you!"
