Album Review: Curtis Grimes's Undeniably Country

Friday, November 18, 2016

Curtis Grimes's new album is something completely different from his other albums he has made before. I hear hints of Travis Tritt, Alan Jackson, Brooks and Dunn and a few other favorites. This album is something new and refreshing but also a huge step to Tradutional Country Music.

I've had a few moments while listening to it where I had to remind myself that it was Curtis Grimes. It gave me flash backs to when times were simpler. I think this album mostly reminds me of George Strait's Road Less Traveled album. If you know me you know how much I love that album.

Here is what some of the Texas music scene had to say about the album!

"Curtis Grimes takes us on a personal journey, of struggles, relationships and Faith. Listeners can appreciate the authenticity, and vulnerability." - Vianca "Smiley Shares"

"I love the stripped down, old fashioned COUNTRY sound of this new CD! This project brings Curtis back to his small town values and faith. His voice really stands out on this one. You can hear the musical influences of Keith Whitley, Merle Haggard, and even Vern Gosdin in his vocals. You can feel the emotion coming through each and every song and you know he has personally lived through the stories that he is singing about.  He has never sounded better. This is his best yet!  You are going to love it!" -Lora Slaughter

Keep on making good music Curtis Grimes!
