Interview: Adam Hood

Saturday, December 3, 2016

Sitting down with a songwriting genius is truly humbling. The creative genius Adam Hood was so kind to sit down and talk to me about his life and his music.

Adam was given a guitar when he was young but really had no time to learn to play. Around the 7th grade one of his neighbors also got a guitar so they started lessons. One would have lessons one day and next the other would. Days they didn't have lessons they would sit down and jam.

It was really interesting to talk to Adam about his upbringing. I mentioned that growing up I listened to a lot of southern gospel and that he reminded me of Mark Lowery. I was kind of embarrassed to tell him that. Don't ask me why lol. But he knew who I was talking about and then thanked me.

I then asked him what it was like to be named on Rolling Stone's list of new country artists in 2015? "I have mixed feelings about it. Have I just been spinning my wheels? Its nice to say I have made impact in the music scene. I will continue to keep playing and see how far I can get."

We then got to talking about who he would want to co-write with if he had the chance to. "I would love to co-write with John Hiatt. He has always been one of my heroes."

We got also got to talk about other topics such as the opportunities to tour with bands, Miranda Lambert, Leann Rogers and soon Brent Cobb. That he was just grateful for the opportunities he has been given.

I tell y'all what Adam Hood is one of the most genuine artist I've ever met. If you have the chance to see him live please do.
